The Cabinet Pattern is part of the extended use stage of the customer experience.
The cabinet shows up in a lot of other patterns in this library. It works like the digital wallets on smartphones that store travel tickets or credit cards. In the cabinet, the customer stores the digital twins of his products.
When he opens it, he sees the collections of his products. He can have different views on these collections, like a list to quickly find products or to see if he has any notifications or alerts to attend to.
He also can dive into one collection to look up specifications or a user manual of one specific product, for example on its product detail page.

With the ongoing establishment of the circular economy, more and more brands will offer digital twins and passports for their products in many different shapes and sizes, which will make it hard and confusing for customer to manage them.
-
By collecting all digital twins at one spot in a similar format, it’s easier for customers to manage them. Also, this enables more integrated circular services on a system level, like material banking.
